Nishkam Pharmacy

 

Mission statement

Nishkam Pharmacy opened in January 2013 and is a trading subsidiary of the Nishkam Healthcare Trust. It is the only 100-hour Pharmacy in the locality and is thus invaluable to the local community. As well as providing core services, the Pharmacy works in partnership with several health and social care organisations in order to improve the overall well-being of patients.

 

Our services

  • We dispense repeat dispensing prescriptions issued by the GP, and are happy for you to collect our prescriptions. A delivery service is provided depnding on circumstances. 

  • We are a Healthy Living Pharmacy pro-actively supporting and promoting behaviour changes, and improving the health and well-being of the local community.

  • We can help you deliver the best possible care for your residents in care homes.  Our experienced, qualified pharmacy team understands the complex and specific need care homes have and will provide you with a tailored safe, secure and efficient pharmacy service. 

  • The Medicine Use Review and Prescription Intervention services consists of accredited pharmacists undertaking structured adherence-centred reviews with patients on multiple medicines, particularly those receiving medicines for long-term conditions. 

  • The New Medicine Service provides support for people with long-term conditions who have been newly prescribed a medicine. 

  • 1-3 people are known to suffer from high blood pressure. Come and have your blood pressure checked at our Pharmacy.

  • Our Pharmacists can administer the seasonal flu vaccination on-site.  You must be over 65 or have a suitable exemption for this free service. 

  • The Comprehensive Substance Misuse Service is available as both a supervised and take-home facility. 

The Nishkam COVID-19 Vaccination Centre was launched in March 2021 w

ith 125 volunteers aged between 16-70 years old, with £12,000 of community contribution and as a 95% volunteer-led initiative.

You don’t need an appointment to access this service, or a registered GP. Just come along during our opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday - 10.00am-4.00pm.
