Volunteers helping to build Nishkam Healthcare Trust buildings

The Nishkam Healthcare Trust was founded in 2012 as part of the Nishkam Group of Organisations, which is centred around the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha Gurudwara (GNNSJ).

GNNSJ is a multi-faceted, faith-based organisation practising the Sikh Dharam (faith), in the name of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (1469-1539).

The Nishkam Healthcare Centre was built by hundreds of volunteers before being officially opened in 2012. Watch highlights of the construction in the below video:

The Gurudwara has been involved in selfless intrafaith work in Kenya and India informally since 1950, and formally in the UK since 1978 as a registered charity.

Marg Sat Santokh

This translates to path of truth and contentment. It was set up in 1979 as a community cooperative, operating as a builders merchant and specialist timber manufacturer and joiner. It upholds the philosophy that ‘work is worship’ and that profit is not the only motive in sustainable economic development.

Nishkam Civic Centre

Established in 2006, the Nishkam Centre aims to serve and uplift society by delivering innovative education, training, health screening, art and heritage programmes; promoting intrafaith, interfaith, intercultural and inter-community dialogue, and championing social justice and inclusion.
